High-Rise Office Building – Downtown Houston, TX

A high-rise office building located in downtown Houston experienced flooding during a tropical storm. The lower floors of the building extend multiple stories underground and include an elaborate tunnel system used by pedestrians to access other buildings, restaurants, and businesses below the street level. The storm produced record floods and water remained in the tunnel system for several days.

After the flood waters subsided, TGC was called to the site and mobilized immediately. Temporary walls were erected within the tunnel system to isolate the damaged areas and maintain a safe work environment for the building tenants. Once the damaged area was isolated TGC performed the water extraction and pumped dry air into the affected area to accelerate the drying process and retard mold, mildew and fungal growth. All drywall, acoustical ceiling, floor covering, glass walls, doors, and affected electrical wiring and panels were removed from the damaged area. TGC was able to perform all the demolition and restoration of the building without disruption to the businesses located above the street level.
