Industrial Facility – Northwest Houston, TX

An oilfield equipment manufacturing facility and warehouse located in northwest Houston experienced a fire in the production area. The facility manufactures pipe and skid assembled equipment which is packaged and distributed locally and overseas. Although the fire started in the production area damaging steel support members, siding, and roofing, it quickly spread to the administrative office area damaging critical electrical and IT infrastructure.

Due to the nature of the business operations it was imperative that the facility experience minimal operational down time because it had existing and new orders that it had already committed to fill. TGC was able to respond to the call and mobilized immediately. Generators were brought on site to provide the backup power required to operate the production equipment and temporary shoring was installed to create a safe working environment in the facility. Large debris was moved with heavy equipment to allow the forensic and structural engineers the ability to conduct their investigation and provide recommendations.

TGC adopted the facility safety protocol in place and followed all necessary safety procedures and required personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. TGC strategically worked around the operating equipment restoring the structure in a systematic approach to virtually eliminate unplanned equipment downtime. The office area was temporarily relocated within the facility and personnel shifted to open work areas to allow them to continue to perform the necessary administrative duties required to run the business.

Temporary switch gear and electrical panels were installed as required to keep the production equipment and production area operating. The electrical cutover to the new equipment was prepared and scheduled in advance to prevent unnecessary equipment outages. These measures allowed the facility to continue operating at full capacity throughout the construction rebuild.
